Azul Cafe
Azul Cafe was born in April 2017 in response to a lack of healthy and fresh food options that the people and visitors of St. Thomas so badly craved. Executive Chef and General Manager Karrl Foster sought out to develop a fun, yet high-quality restaurant after his previous fine-dining restaurant, The Blue Orchid was destroyed in hurricanes Irma and Maria. Karrl put his past of running delicious and delectable restaurants and experience as the Conseiller Culinaire Provencial of the Chaine des Rôtisseurs Eastern Caribbean region to work to create Azul Cafe.
Azul’s mission is to provide great, substantial, and healthy food dining to the US Virgin Islanders and visitors of our islands.

About Karrl Foster
Well-known in the US Virgin Islands, Karrl has owned several restaurants locally, including the Tage Restaurant on St. John, and Wikked on St. Thomas. He has also worked as the Executive Chef at Sugar Bay Resort, and of course, more recently, The Blue Orchid at the St. Peter Greathouse.
Karrl brings his passion of locally-sourced, fresh and healthy cuisine to create the refreshing menu and daily specials of Azul Cafe. By incorporating his extensive experience in the hospitality industry, this simultaneously casual and scrumptious restaurant has garnered quite the following of loyal fans since inception.

“Though located close to the cruise ship port, this restaurant / bar is not a tourist trap. Their menu features a nice mix of vegetarian, pub, and local cuisine. Prices are reasonable given the size of portions and quality of food. Check the specials board for additional food selections. The bar features a wide variety of beer and liquor selections. My server was friendly and had great knowledge of their offerings. This is an outdoor cafe with a quirt, laid back atmosphere. Quite a nice change from the nearby area.”

“We asked a local gentleman where to get good local foods and he suggested Azul Cafe. Great suggestion, the food was great and amazing. Tiffany are server is a great lady, she was very nice and helpful. Highly recommend you try this cafe if you are ever in St. Thomas.”
